Insurance Underwriting Practice (IF3)

Insurance Underwriting Process is yet another of the core subjects offered toward the CERT CII designation which is examined and certified by the Chartered Insurance Institute, London.

This unit offers you the knowledge and understanding of the role of underwriting including identification, assessment and acceptance of risk, rating, and relevant financial factors.

There are other beneficial areas including reinsurance of risks as well pricing of unusual or undesirable risks. Finally, we will look at the impact of the recent changes to the acceptance of risk as applicable to consumers and non-consumers.

The CERT CII modules are aimed at delegates working across all sectors of the industry. It has been developed by practitioners to provide a grounding in basic insurance principles including the regulatory environment, key insurance disciplines and popular products.

The course supports role specific learning which will assist individuals and their employers to develop relevant competences.

Who should Enrol:

Employees working all the insurance industry with a minimum of at least 3 years general insurance experience. Of special interest are those working in an underwriting department. Any delegate desiring technical skills in understanding the pricing and selling of insurance.
